I used to have an entire page dedicated to different Kirby Puckett baseball cards when I'm younger. When I heard he died I thought it was some kind of inside joke I didn't know about.
I too thought it was a joke. I kept saying "No, he's just sick. Had a stroke." Then I went over to the tv and saw his montage ending with In Memory. It was a sad moment.

He was a clutch baseball player. I heard some people talking the other day about how he used steroids. Do you think that should influence his legacy?
Never heard about roids, but SI ran that big story a while back about how he was a wife-beating pervert.
